Newlife is one of the leading IVF clinics in Greece. In order to engage with their existing and prospective international clients, Newlife commissioned us with the design and creation of a short animated video. Rather than being literal, the video aims at illustrating the emotional journey of a couple opting for IVF —their initial disappointments, hope, eagerness, and ultimately happiness— in an intuitive and stirring way. Hand-drawn illustrations were created for each scene of the video and animations were added. Consistent graphical elements, such as particular brushes and shapes, play a significant role, acting as the common denominator between scenes and facilitating a smooth transition between storylines. The overall color theme is based on the Newlife brand color with variations to communicate emotion. The figures appear deliberately nondescript, to avoid unnecessary focus on the characters, allowing the viewers to see themselves as potential protagonists in the story.
